Setup & Adjustments

As professional musicians, we understand the difference a properly setup instrument can make. Violinists travel far and wide to visit our workshop and have their instrument set up by our team of luthiers. Fingerboard & Neck Adjustments

Over time, the fingerboard and neck on your stringed instrument might wear down, lose its projection or change due to climate. Our luthiers are masters at getting the neck and fingerboard back to perfect condition. A properly shaped fingerboard and neck will enhance playability and tone tremendously.

This work generally takes 2 to 3 hours, but every instrument is different, evaluation is necessary. This shim can only add a few millimeters of projection.

Remove rosin, dust, and grime from the outside of the instrument

Remove & clean accessories (chinrest, tailpiece, strings & bridge), thoroughly clean & polish the instrument, reinstall everything. This is a good time for a string change!

Remove the old nut, craft a new one from a blank piece of quality ebony, glue and finish to perfection. Usually 1 to 2 hours of work

If the saddle has come loose, the area usually needs to be cleaned before reinstalling the saddle

Remove the old saddle, clean the area, craft a new saddle and adjust to perfection
